Wazir Janki Nath Memorial Higher Secondary school was started as a Foundation School in the fond memory of Late Justice J.N. Wazir. Born in 1905, this legendary figure after completing Bar-at-Law from London joined the J&K state services and excelled over the years to become the longest serving Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir (1945-1967). He also headed many services and was the Chairman of several bodies besides being the Governor of the state and Vice Chancellor of the Jammu and Kashmir University. In all his capacities, he put in a lot of effort in the development and promotion of Education. "Education is the true wealth of a man and no one can steal it", was his firm belief. In bearing with his cherished dreams his eldest son Shri. Aman Wazir and daughter in law Smt. Sudershan Wazir felt that the best tribute that could be paid to him was to start an Institution in his name who was an institution by himself. Inspired by their Grandfather's life, and supported by their parents, Justice Wazir’s granddaughters, Mrs. Sumalini Kotwal and Himalini Singh Wazir started this school in March 1993.
The School is equipped with all the modern facilities like smart classes, laboratories, play fields, requisite teacher-student ratio etc. which are essential for a good Institute.
