(Formerly MI Excel)
As Educational Improvement Consultants, we provide consulting and coordination of activities related to continuous improvement including: PA25, accreditation processes, curriculum development guidance, school organization and restructuring, leadership development, ESSA, accountability, data profile, MICIP, program evaluation, needs assessments, and State and Federal Programs.
We directly support and provide strategic/technical expertise to identified Partnership Districts, designated Comprehensive Support and Improvement Schools (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Additional Targeted Support (ATS), as identified by the U.S. Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Education. We also support the development and implementation of required improvement plans; school turnaround efforts that lead to rapid improvement in student achievement and support to schools in implementing and documenting SSoS requirements.
Schools designated as CSI are Michigan public schools identified in the bottom 5% of all schools statewide and/or did not achieve a graduation rate of 67% or higher. Regional Assistance Grants (RAG) are awarded to intermediate school districts (ISDs) and educational service agencies (ESAs) to support districts with CSI schools via a formula allocation. The following schools were identified as CSI schools in 2018.
Please visit the MDE Michigan School Statewide System of Support Resources website for more information about CSI, TSI and ATS school designation.
