The purpose of this leadership academy is to strengthen administrators’ knowledge and skills for more intentional and purposeful leadership practices that impact teacher performance and student learning. This cohort will meet four times throughout the year for full-day, in-person sessions, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The cost for the series is $475 per person, and includes the professional learning sessions and three books. In this three-part series, leaders will have the chance to explore the fundamental elements and skills vital for impactful instructional leadership. Additionally, the series will delve into strategies for cultivating a school environment that prioritizes student achievement and the integration of instructional best practices. Participants will engage in collaborative sessions with subject matter experts, gaining valuable insights into conducting walkthroughs and observations across various subjects including math, science, social studies, and literacy instruction. Schools are struggling with student motivation and attendance. In this seminar, school leaders will have the opportunity to learn and collaborate in multiple sessions on the research around attendance issues and strategies for reducing chronic absenteeism throughout their schools and districts. The audience for this seminar is any school employee focused on creating a culture that is intent upon decreasing attendance issues and increasing awareness of the importance of combating the harmful, long-lasting effects of excessive absenteeism. This professional learning series aims to elevate the knowledge of educational leaders and school teams in comprehending the foundational principles of thriving, adaptable schools that prioritize the well-being of staff, students, and families. Participants will deepen their understanding of brain research and adverse childhood experiences, in order to create an educational environment rooted in resilience and relationships for all members of the school community. Through structured sessions, school leaders and educator teams will assess existing practices, pinpoint areas necessitating improvement, and enact changes directly influencing academic performance, attendance, as well as the overall climate and culture within their school and district. This two-year learning series is specifically designed for individuals who are new to or aspiring towards the curriculum director role. Participants are afforded the flexibility to join either Year 1 or Year 2 of the program. This series aims to provide meaningful learning experiences on high-leverage concepts that directly impact the whole school community and curriculum leader role. We will focus on building consistent communication structures to ensure coherence and sustainability by integrating these topics into system-level work. Each session, centered on equity, will concentrate on leadership and transformation needed for innovative changes. Co-facilitated by experienced leaders currently serving in district curriculum roles and RESA consultants, the learning sessions will offer tools and resources to facilitate systems-level work. Participants will not only apply their learning but also collaborate with peers. As a bonus, each participant will receive a copy of “Crucial Conversations,” serving as an anchor to build leadership and conversational skills essential to this role. Register here.
