Wayne County Pathfinders' Timeline

June 2023

Initial numbers are reported to the Our State, Our Work team. Wayne County Pathfinders' partners have successfully reached 63 Opportunity Youth and partnered with 10 employers for internships for young adults. 

May 2023

Focus groups with young adults are continued across the county. With the collaboration of students from NC State and UNC Chapel Hill, two grant templates are created for key grant opportunities.

April 2023

Team partners meet with Mr. Rick Brown, Vice President of the Bank of America, to discuss employer engagement in Wayne County and to develop a plan of action. A young adult is identified to intern at United Way and the Wayne County Public Library. Focus groups are launched at 5 locations across the county. 

March 2023

The team attends Forum 3 of Our State, Our Work. Upon returning, they create two working groups for the project: Employer Engagement and Opportunity Youth Engagement. 

February 2023

The WCPF team met to further refine the collaborative action plan and to develop a strategy for implementation. 

January 2023

Upon returning from Forum 2 at UNC Chapel Hill, the team closely reviewed Wayne County data and refined the draft of the collaborative action plan.

December 2022

The team met and successfully defined funding priorities and established a direction for young adult focus group materials.

November 2022

The Wayne County Pathfinders met to create a comprehensive asset map of Wayne County's resources for youth and families.

October 2022

The Wayne County Pathfinders convened as a team for the first time and discussed the project with Lead ncIMPACT researcher, Jessica Dorrance.

September 2022

The Director and staff of the Wayne County Public Library, Team 11's lead agency, attend Forum 1 of Our State, Our Work, and begin to assemble a team.
