About

The Wayne County Pathfinders are Team 11, a cross-sector collaborative in the Our State, Our Work initiative housed under the Carolina Across 100 initiative and ncIMPACT at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Government.

Who are Opportunity Youth?

Opportunity Youth are defined as 16 to 24 year olds that are not in school and not working.

What is Our State, Our Work?

Our State, Our Work (OSOW) resides within ncIMPACT, an initiative housed in the UNC School of Government. OSOW was created in the wake of Covid19 to respond to the increased disengagement of young adults from school and work. Funded by the office of the UNC Chapel Hill Chancellor, Kevin Guskiewicz, researchers were engaged to employ a minimum of 13 work teams across North Carolina to addressing the growing gaps in community reengagement. Wayne County Pathfinders joined as Team 11 in June 2022 and seeks to reach 10% of the 2,090 of the Opportunity Youth in Wayne County, North Carolina.
