The Watson Family
Grand Prairie, Texas USA is the original home of the Leroy A. Watson Family who are generational members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On January 5, 1943 the late Patriarch Leroy A. Watson, originally of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Mona Killough of Austin, Texas were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. The couple were favored with 10 children: Leroy Jr. (Lee) , Linda, Carol, Keith, Alice, Mary, Walter, Jane, Laura and Nancy. The family has owned the property they call Legacy Lake since 1993. The lake and its amenities are available seasonally and by appointment to Latter-Day Saint youth camps and related groups with Christian standards as part of their ongoing business enterprise. As Legacy Lake is private and does not advertise to the general public, reservations are welcome from prior clients or by a referral. To learn more about what Legacy Lake has to offer and to book a reservation as our honored guest we invite you to carefully explore this website which should answer most of your questions. If Legacy Lake is something you want to pursue we invite you to schedule a pre-visit in advance to inspect the lake and facilities by messaging our agent at 918 471 2466.
Boiling Springs Creek Watershed
Legacy Lake originated from the Boiling Springs Creek Watershed Project, Dam #1, Latimer County, Oklahoma. The lake, constructed in 1973 under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, has an elevation of 751 ft., a surface area of 25 acres and is 20 ft. deep at its lowest point. The family owned property surrounding the lake extends 1.1 miles across by .58 miles wide covering an area of 368 acres. Most of the terrain is densely wooded and has never been explored. The lake is fed by artesian springs which also feed the clear rock-lined wading pool near the Lodge. Lake water clarity varies due to natural rainfall but the water quality is very good and is home to a variety of fish such as bluegill, sunfish, catfish, crappie and bass.
