Rent-a-Hive and Bee Share
Our Rent-A-Hive and Bee Share programs are new initiatives we are launching to help make beekeeping more accessible to people who have an interest in bees and beekeeping without them having to invest in becoming a beekeeper. Both of these programs are great ways for anyone interested in bees to try out beekeeping without having to set up and manage hives. Space is limited so please reach out to us soon if you are interested and would like to find out more.
The Rent-A-Hive program is intended for people, organizations, or businesses who would like to try beekeeping or want a bee hive but don't feel comfortable or cannot commit to managing a hive by themselves. We work with you to set up and manage the hive. You can either rent a hive for a season or purchase a hive and we will manage the hive for you to ensure it is healthy and productive. We can provide the bees and guarantee the hive won't become queenless and you get to keep all the honey harvest for yourselves. At the end of the season, we can either relocate the hive or help you winterize the hive for the next season.
Our Bee Share program is intended for those who would like to have bees but for various reasons cannot have a bee hive. It is ideal for people who live in apartments or in communities where HOA rules prevent them from keeping bees. Similar to our Rent-A-Hive program, you can buy a share in a beehive that we will manage and take care of you, and you get to keep your share of the honey harvest.
If you are interested in either of these programs please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
Although we are a small apiary, we do offer pollination services in the Northern Virginia area. Please contact us to find out more.
A swarm is a colony of bees that are looking for a new home. Typically they are relatively harmless unless provoked. Swarming is a natural part of the bee lifecycle and typically occurs in the spring and summer. If you need assistance relocating a swarm you can reach out to us, however we suggest you reach out to your local bee club. They will be able to put you in contact with a local beekeeper who will relocate the swarm to a new home.
We are continually looking for new Apiary locations. Please contact us if you are interested in having bees on your property.
