Sustainability at the In-Person Watershed Congress
The organizers of the Watershed Congress strive to present an event that is environmentally beneficial, sustainable, and continuously improving. As a result, we work closely with our venue and partners to include a variety of sustainable practices at the Watershed Congress. Attendees can also play a large part in helping us host a sustainable event.
Sustainable Practices at the Watershed Congress
This year, the Watershed Congress will be:
Serving food that comes from sustainable producers and processors in New Jersey and Pennsylvania including from farms in Berks, Chester, Lancaster, and Schuylkill Counties, to the extent possible.
Raising awareness of the diet-climate connection, this year's Watershed Congress will provide participants meatless meals. Our food service will be provided by Bause Catering.
Serving water in pitchers instead of offering single-use plastic bottles so participants can utilize reusable bottles.
Maximizing electronic communication and limiting print material.
You Can Help
Bring a reusable water bottle, coffee mug, and straw to reduce the need for single-use items.
This will allow you to utilize the "Hydration Stations" around Montgomery County Community College - Pottstown Campus.
Bring a set of reusable flatware to reduce the need for single-use utensils.
Take public transportation or carpool if possible.
The Pottstown Campus is served by both SEPTA Route 93 and Pottstown Area Rapid Transit (PART). SEPTA information is online at www.septa.org or by calling 610-279-8400. For more information on PART, go to www.pottstownarearapidtransit.com or call 610-326-5413.
