WatchOut (“WatchOut,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and processed when you use the WatchOut mobile application (“App”).

By using WatchOut, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Process

WatchOut provides nearby incident information, public safety alerts, maps, and access to public police, fire, and emergency radio feeds.

To provide these features, the App may process certain information from your device.

Location Information

WatchOut may access your device's location while you are using the App.

Your location is used to:

• show your position on the map;

• identify incidents near you; and

• provide location-relevant safety information.

Your device location used for these features is not stored on WatchOut's backend servers.

WatchOut does not require background location access for this functionality.

You can disable location access at any time through your device settings, although doing so may limit nearby incident and map features.

Device Identifier

WatchOut does not require you to create an account using an email address, password, or other traditional login information.

The App may generate or use a unique device or installation identifier to operate the Service, maintain application functionality, associate subscription access, prevent abuse, and provide relevant features.

Analytics and Diagnostic Information

We may collect or process limited technical and usage information to understand how the App performs and to identify technical problems.

This information may include:

• device type and operating system;

• App version;

• device or installation identifiers;

• App interactions and usage information;

• crash reports;

• diagnostic and performance information;

• subscription status; and

• attribution information.

2. Incident and Public Safety Data

WatchOut provides incident and public safety information obtained from third-party sources, including services such as Incident Source, Broadcastify, and RadioReference.

Certain incident information and public safety data obtained from these sources may be processed and stored on WatchOut's backend infrastructure to provide the Service.

This third-party incident information is separate from your device's location information. Your location used to identify nearby incidents is not stored on our backend as part of the location functionality described above.

3. Live Radio Feeds

WatchOut may provide access to live or near-live public police, fire, emergency, and public safety scanner feeds.

These feeds may be provided through third-party sources such as Broadcastify and RadioReference.

Listening to a radio feed does not require WatchOut to record or store your microphone audio.

Information regarding your interactions with App features may, however, be processed as general analytics information.

4. Push Notifications

WatchOut may use push notifications to provide incident alerts, safety-related information, and other relevant notifications.

Your device may provide technical identifiers, such as a push notification token, that are necessary to deliver these notifications.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

5. Third-Party Services

WatchOut uses third-party services to operate, analyze, maintain, and improve the App.

These may include:

Firebase — for application infrastructure and analytics.

Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reporting and diagnostics.

Adapty — for subscription management, paywalls, and related analytics.

Adjust — for attribution, measurement, and analytics.

Incident Source, Broadcastify, and RadioReference — for incident information and/or public safety radio-related functionality.

These providers may process certain device, technical, analytics, subscription, attribution, or usage information according to their respective privacy policies.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

WatchOut may offer weekly and yearly subscriptions.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple. WatchOut does not directly collect or store your full payment card information.

We and our subscription service provider, Adapty, may process information necessary to determine your subscription status, provide premium access, restore purchases, and manage subscription-related functionality.

7. How We Use Information

Information processed through WatchOut may be used to:

• provide and operate App features;

• show nearby incidents;

• provide push notifications;

• maintain subscription access;

• analyze App usage and performance;

• diagnose crashes and technical problems;

• measure attribution and marketing performance;

• prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse; and

• improve the App and its features.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your precise location information.

Information may be processed by third-party service providers when necessary to operate, analyze, secure, and improve WatchOut.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, enforce our Terms of Use, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect our rights and users.

9. Data Retention and Security

Your location used to show nearby incidents is not stored on WatchOut's backend servers.

Other information, such as device identifiers, subscription information, analytics, diagnostic information, and push notification tokens, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service or fulfill legitimate operational, security, and legal purposes.

Third-party providers may retain information according to their own privacy policies and our configuration of their services.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information associated with WatchOut. However, no electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children's Privacy

WatchOut is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through WatchOut, please contact us.

11. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, or deletion of certain information.

You may also control location, notification, and applicable tracking permissions through your device settings.
