My first encounter with Brazilian chicken was living alone. I originally lived in the U.S. with my family, but two years ago I graduated from high school and began living alone in Japan. My parents sent money to help me survive, but as much as I love chicken, it was too expensive for me to enjoy Japanese chicken on a daily basis. Among foreign chicken meat, Brazilian chicken meat was my support, as it was the cheapest and tastiest groceries in the supermarket. Since then, I have been eating Brazilian chicken meat on a daily basis, even after I entered university. It may sound too big of a deal, but I think that it is a symbol of who I am. The plastic plate waste that come from the chicken are daily and the amount gets really high.
These are the plate that go to the trash. One plate per meal.
Especially in Japan, plastic containers for food products are commonplace and indispensable in our lives in countless numbers.
When I go to the supermarket, there is a recycling dumpster near the entrance, where I dump my plastic food trays that I washed and saved, and put together at home.
