History
The WASP was founded in the summer of 2000 by three individuals who wanted to offer kids the experience of competitive swimming. Rudy Rudeen, along with Vaughan Matucheski and Michelle Borkovec, started this program during that summer to see if there was enough interest in the area to pursue the creation of an age-group swim team. When 55 enthusiastic kids showed up, the question answered itself! The WASP swim team was born and quickly became an organized club team that traveled the state and engaged in competition.
