Fruit-Bearing Ginkgo Trees

The Washington Square West Trust will grant a reimbursement of up to $1,000 to any home or investment property owner who removes a fruit-bearing gingko tree from his/her property located in Washington Square West and replaces it with another tree from the approved list of street trees by the Fairmont Park Commission, working through the Urban Stewardship Committee of the Washington Square West Civic Association (WSWCA) or other intermediary approved by the Trust.  Bare root replacement trees are not eligible for reimbursement under this program. Payment will be made directly to the property owner by the Trust only after the Urban Stewardship Committee or other intermediary confirms that the offending tree has actually been removed and replaced; therefore it is important to contact the Urban Stewardship Committee or other intermediary before the gingko tree is removed. Tree Stump Removal

The Washington Square West Trust will grant a reimbursement of 50% up to a maximum of $100 per tree stump to any home or investment property owner who removes a dead tree stump from a residential property on a walkway or street open to the public located in Washington Square West, and replaces it with tree from the Fairmont Park Commission’s list of approved street trees.  The removal and planting must be done working through the Urban Stewardship Committee of the Washington Square West Civic Association (WSWCA) or other intermediary approved by the Trust. Payment will be made directly to the property owner by the Trust only after the Urban Stewardship Committee or other intermediary confirms that the tree stump has been removed and an approved tree planted in the tree pit from which the stump was removed. Street Facade Lighting

The Washington Square West Trust will grant a reimbursement of up to $100 in out-of-pocket expenses (labor and materials) to any home or investment property owner who installs, replaces, or repairs so as to make operable up to two street facade light fixtures on his/her property located in Washington Square West.  The light fixture or fixtures must illuminate a walkway or street open to the public.   This program is limited to one grant per home or investment property in Washington Square West.   Complete the form below to submit your grant request.  If you have issues accessing the form, you may email your request and supporting documentation to washwesttrust@gmail.com. 

Little Free Library Standing Grant

The Washington Square West Trust will grant a reimbursement of up to $100 in out-of-pocket expenses (materials only) to any home or investment property owner who installs a Little Free Library book exchange on his/her/their property located in Washington Square West.  The box must be purchased from Little Free Library (www.littlefreelibrary.org) and be located on a walkway or street open to the public.  The owner is responsible for maintaining the Library, and for any required permits or licenses.  This grant is limited to one home or investment property in Washington Square West.  Complete the form below to submit your grant request.  If you have issues accessing the form, you may email your request and supporting documentation to washwesttrust@gmail.com.
