On November 17, 1992, the Washington Bypass was officially opened to Cummings Lane.

The Hicks service station at the corner of Peoria and Wood Streets was removed, and its tanks dug from the ground.

Countryside Banquet Facility opened in the old Washington Skateland.

Edna Ficht was the 1992 recipient of the Washingtonian Award.

Sarah Adams became the first WCHS swimmer to place at the state meet, which she would go on to do for four years.
