2024 General Election Deadlines:
June 5 – First day for candidate to file for office for local offices filled at General Election (i.e. city offices)
July 18 – First day for district candidate to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition.
August 16 - Last day for governing body to file referral text or prepared ballot title in order to complete challenge period
August 27 - Last day for candidate to file for office.
August 27 - Last day for district candidate to file or withdraw.
August 27 - Last day to file or withdraw candidate statements for State voters' pamphlet
August 30 - Last day for candidate, other than district candidate, to withdraw.
September 5 - Last day to file or withdraw notice of measure election and any required explanatory statement
September 20 - Military & overseas ballots mailed
October 7 - Out of state ballots mailed
October 15 - Last day to register to vote.
October 16 - Local ballots mailed to voters
October 22 - Last day Elections Official to mail replacement ballots to voters - It is recommended that voters come into the office to assure they get a ballot on time
November 5 - Election Day. County Clerk's Office is open 7 am - 8 pm. Last day for voter to return ballot. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 pm on Election Day. Unofficial election results will be released at 8 pm and at final count for the evening (typically around midnight).
