Due to the construction of the new parish office building, the parking lot lost parking spaces available for parish services and Oktoberfest. To compensate for the lost parking we have devised a plan for off-site parking and shuttles to bring patrons to Oktoberfest. Also, there will be reserved parking at the parish for the Saturday evening Masses. The details are as follows...
General Parking for Masses and Oktoberfest
There is no parking along the construction fences in front of the Church
The lower lot in front of Mercy Hall will be reserved for Masses on Saturday evening. If you attend the 5 PM Mass and intend to go to Oktoberfest, please move your vehicle for the folks attending the 7 PM Spanish Mass. The driver should consider parking at the offsite lot and taking the shuttle back (see below)
Volunteers who are able bodied are asked to park in the Power Trucks lot after 5 PM on Friday and after 2 PM on Saturday
Please do NOT use these parking spaces for Oktoberfest.
Offsite Parking and Shuttle
We have obtained permission from UVA Health Piedmont, at the corner of Blackwell Road and Walker Drive, to use their parking lot as our offsite parking lot for Oktoberfest patrons. There will a shuttle that will run between this lot and Saint John the Evangelist School.
Park only in the spaces outlined in green in the picture below
Please do NOT park in the lower parking lot in front of the urgent care
10/07/2026 - There will be HVAC repair work being done on Friday and Saturday, so the space in the yellow section will not be available as well
The shuttle will run every 20 minutes
We will NOT be able to accommodate child restraint systems or handicap devices - car seats, wheelchairs, scooters, etc.
It is highly recommended that drivers drop off their passengers at Oktoberfest, then proceed to the offsite parking and take the shuttle back. Then, when you are leaving Oktoberfest, have the driver take the shuttle to the offsite parking and and return to pick up the passengers.
