The balance that holds this world is thin, the idea that we can create a perfect world is a poison chalice destined to destroy all those foolish enough to drink form it. With out good evil will rules but with out evil we grow complacent in vigil and far worse evils will rise. Without nature the life of the world will fade, but with to much we lose homes farm and places for cattle to graze.
" whether you are here because you feel a calling to darkness, whether you are here because you feel a calling to stop it. If you you feel that you're here to serve god or simply here spill blood. I shall have you and together we can save this world"
Warband Leader
The Preservers of Order sticks to the core principles of too much evil: the world is destructive, too much good leads to complacency thereby creating a greater evil and strives to find a balance. Whatever is necessary to keep the balance can be utilised, whether it be the employment of necromancers and dark magic or employing religious zealots, all are welcome.
The Preservers of Order cares little about race or background and have been known to even overlook motives of applicants to their ranks, their task is impossible and unending so those who do ask to join are rarely turned away.
The Preservers of Order are ideology based however they try to be pragmatic, the mission is important, but not every battle needs to be won. Too many failed battles they believe will lead to ruin for all, if not in this lifetime then the next.
A foreign historian named Corona Lash escaped to this continent from his homeland in the north-east after witnessing his home torn apart. His vessel found port in Vagys and he began exploring the new land. As he travelled and studied the history of Ashnfel, comparing it to the history of his own, he realised the simple truth that allowing either good or evil to rise leads to the same result, destruction. With this newfound knowledge in mind, he began travelling again, this time attempting to enlighten the minds of every else to the knowledge he possessed. Soon he had a following that the more foolish and sceptical among the world called a cult. As most Factions that held power in the land disagreed with the message this group was attempting to spread, refuge was rare and they sought out the one place whose people seemed to agree with their goal, the Fae in the Everglades Forest.
Corona Lash had already made contact with the beings who resided in the Everglade during his travels, having prostrated himself before them and asking to be told of their histories. Although the Fae did not allow him access into the deep forest, most of the societies who resided within, or the Groves, they understood his plight and a tenuous trust had begun to form in the short time he had stayed to observe the conflict between the Empire and the group of Fae called the Guardians, over the destruction of their part of the Everglades. Although the Fae were wary at the sight of the following he had gained, they negotiated an alliance on the basis of their trust with them and their joint goal, allowing the now-named Preservers of Order to erect a stronghold on the outskirts of the forest, so they could both continue fighting their own battles, but could come together to fight the necessary fight against bigger threats.
