Julie Kusiek is a trusted and respected community leader in Edmonton. For over a decade, she’s been bringing people together to build consensus on difficult issues and mobilize for positive change. Through this work she’s built relationships across Edmonton with elected officials and community leaders from all walks of life. Julie will bring a strong voice for intergovernmental and community collaboration for Edmonton Public Schools. She’s honoured to accept the endorsements of Mayor Don Iveson, former EPSB Trustees Bev Esslinger and Dave Colburn, former Chair for the U of A Board of Governors Michael Phair, and the Edmonton District and Labour Council, among others. Julie holds a master’s degree (2007) where she focused on youth engagement in local communities. She also worked at Alberta Health in policy and planning, currently works in the non-profit sector, and has her own consulting company. Julie is thankful for the support of her husband and four daughters, three of whom currently attend Edmonton Public Schools (the fourth will soon). As with every project Julie has seen through, it always takes a community. Julie would like to express her extreme gratitude for the countless volunteers and supporters working with her in this campaign for “education grounded in community.” Julie looks forward to connecting with many more residents of Ward F and would be honoured to serve as your next Edmonton Public School Board Trustee.
