Ying is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of South Florida, where she joined the faculty in August 2025.

She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Jiangnan University in China in 2012 and her M.S. from the same institution in 2015. After completing her master’s degree, she worked in the education sector in China before moving to the United States in 2018 to pursue doctoral studies.

In 2022, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry Education from the University of South Florida. She then joined the University of Virginia as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemistry Education prior to returning to USF as a faculty member.
