Welcome Dr. Coppola
The Walton PTA would like to extend a warm welcome to our new principal Dr. Adriana Coppola.
Come see Aladdin Jr. at FMG on December 8th or 9th.
Dear Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with strong educational professionals teaching and producing students ready and well prepared for the next grade and beyond. I am eager to move forward in fostering these relationships and building upon new ones with the professional staff and committed families to continue to provide an educational environment filled with positive and creative experiences that each child deserves.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-five years. 21 of those years served as an educator and four of those years served as an administrator in Hoboken, New Jersey. I began my educational career as a pre-k 3 &4 teacher. I then taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade as well as graduate students at Montclair State University. My administrative career began as a Supervisor, then progressed to Director of Early Childhood Education (ECE) and also served as the Building Administrator for the Hoboken Public Schools. During my tenure as an administrator, I was able to increase preschool and kindergarten enrollment along with strengthening the early childhood curriculum to better serve the children with high academic standards. Two years after my appointment as Director of ECE, I embarked upon a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at Seton Hall University, located in South Orange N. J. It was soon after that I decided to take the time to refresh and commit to my family and continue my passion for education the best I knew how. Teaching allowed me to reconnect with the students and continue my doctoral courses. I am pleased to share that I have graduated with a Doctoral Degree from Seton Hall University.
Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will continue to focus on character education initiatives, use of data to inform instruction, steady implementation of newly strategies to increase students’ achievement, and providing challenging heightening opportunities for all students.
All of us at Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center are eager and excited to begin. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors is motivated and happy to be here. Together, we can meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing way. My door is always open and I welcome your feedback. Please feel free to call, email or stop in to discuss any concerns or ideas to help make this year an optimal one. Join me in this educational journey to make a genuine difference in the lives of our youngest learners.
Dr. Adriana B. Coppola, Principal
