Play It Forward is a simple idea: take musical instruments that are no longer being used and put them into the hands of kids who need them.
We collect playable instruments and help connect them with young people who want to learn, create, and make music of their own.
We're not interested in letting good instruments sit forgotten in closets, basements, or garages.
If an instrument can still make music, it can still make a difference.

Play It Forward is for kids and young people who want to make music but may not have access to an instrument of their own.
A child shouldn't have to give up on learning music because they can't afford the instrument.
We're here to help close that gap—one instrument at a time.
Whether they're picking up an instrument for the first time or already learning to play, the goal is the same:
Give them the opportunity to play.

If you're a parent, guardian, school, youth organization, or community group looking for an instrument for a young musician, we'd like to hear from you.
Tell us what instrument you're looking for and a little about who it would be for.
We'll do our best to connect available instruments with young people who need them.
Instrument availability varies. Requests are considered as instruments become available.
