Wallingford has always been a community that takes care of itself and each other. Today, that means something more: we stand firmly against the authoritarian drift gripping our country — the attacks on voting rights, the consolidation of power among billionaires and oligarchs, and the targeting of our most vulnerable neighbors.
We believe in the institutions of democracy, the dignity of every neighbor, and the power of ordinary people to shape their community. We will not normalize what is happening. We will resist it — peacefully, persistently, and together.
Our fight is local and immediate: protecting neighbors harmed by federal policy, building community resilience, and showing up for each other the way Wallingford always has.

Our Current Focus: Narrative Shift and Mutual Aid
Narrative Shift:
In Wallingford, we believe no single person — no matter how rich or powerful — gets to make decisions for the whole neighborhood. That's not how we do things here. We decide what happens in our neighborhood, in our schools, on our buses, in our parks, and with our taxes. Billionaires and giant corporations refusing to pay their fair share of taxes and refusing to protect our environment and climate is not democracy; we will hold them accountable. We will expose and refute the false propaganda bombarding us daily. We will expose the law-breakers, the defrauders, the polluters, the vengeful and the violent. We will create a vision of the safe, clean, healthy democratic world that we want to build.
Mutual Aid:
Everyone gives.
Mutual aid is not charity — it's neighbors supporting neighbors because we're all in this together. When federal safety nets are being gutted, our community becomes the net. We're mapping Wallingford's needs and offers. Whatever your situation — whether you need help or have capacity to give — there's a place for you in mutual aid pod. We will ally with local organizations to better understand current needs and assist in providing collective care.
