PRIVATE LESSONS

In addition to individual mariachi and orchestra classes, the programs also have a wonderful staff of private lesson instructors. Each instructor is an expert on their individual instruments and have been selected to teach in our school district by Hays CISD Mariachi/Orchestra teachers.  Students who take private lessons progress at a much faster rate and have more success with music.

Each instrument has special needs and tendencies, and we partner with some of the finest trained professionals in their fields. There is no substitute for taking lessons with an individual who performs or specializes on a specific instrument, and we work to find the best fit for each of our students.

Many think that “private lessons” or “tutoring” are only needed for kids who are struggling with their instrument … while it is great for “extra help” as it suggests, those students who are excelling on their instruments benefit equally and usually excel to a whole new level of performance.

Private lessons are weekly and last 30 minutes or half a class period. Lesson times are arranged between the lesson instructor and the student and are taught at Wallace Middle School during the school day, as well as before or after school. Private lessons are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for every student in the Mariachi/Orchestra program.

Además de las clases individuales de mariachi y orquesta, los programas también cuentan con un maravilloso personal de instructores de lecciones privadas. Cada instructor es un experto en sus instrumentos individuales y ha sido seleccionado para enseñar en nuestro distrito escolar por maestros de Mariachi / Orquesta de Hays CISD. Los estudiantes que toman lecciones privadas progresan a un ritmo mucho más rápido y tienen más éxito con la música.

Cada instrumento tiene necesidades y tendencias especiales, y nos asociamos con algunos de los mejores profesionales capacitados en sus campos. No hay sustituto para tomar lecciones con una persona que toca o se especializa en un instrumento específico, y trabajamos para encontrar la mejor opción para cada uno de los miembros de nuestra banda. Muchos piensan que las "lecciones privadas" o las "tutorías" solo son necesarias para los niños que tienen dificultades con su instrumento ... si bien es excelente para "ayuda adicional", como sugiere, los estudiantes que se destacan en sus instrumentos se benefician por igual y, por lo general, sobresalen en un nivel de rendimiento completamente nuevo.

Las lecciones privadas son semanales y duran 30 minutos o medio período de clase. Los horarios de las lecciones se organizan entre el instructor de la lección y el estudiante y se enseñan en la Escuela Intermedia Wallace durante el día escolar, así como antes o después de la escuela. Las lecciones privadas son ALTAMENTE ALENTADAS para todos los estudiantes en el programa de Mariachi / Orquesta.

Private Lessons & Masterclasses

Individual program directors are responsible for coordinating any private lessons or student masterclasses.  Any consultants / independent contractors that are invited to work with students must complete the necessary background checks (noted in above consultant/contractor section) prior to working with any students.  Rates for instructors are standardized throughout the district at the following rates updated June 2023:

A private lesson teacher with a: Bachelors Degree: 25min lesson $21 Masters Degree: 25min lesson $23
