Our goals are to:
1) Make as many First Nations communities as we can visible on Google Maps by teaching students how to take 360' pictures and upload as Street View; and
2) Help students create virtual tours of these communities for storytelling. The students are the historians by interviewing Elders and teaching others about where they live in an immersive and engaging way.
Walk With Us works with community members, their Housing Department and the Google Maps team to make edits to roads and points of interest in communities. This ensures an up-to-date presence on Google Maps!
We’d love to learn about where you are from, and who better to be our guide than you? Fill out the Google Form below to be part of our map and allow others to visit your community virtually. Find resources to get started here.
Once you've submitted the Form, your virtual tour will appear on the map below. Please allow 24 hours for your tour to appear. Click / tap on the Walk With Us logo on the map to access a particular community's virtual tour link!
VR Tours of Omushkego Cree Territory
As we grow and build relationships with more communities, Walk With Us can go virtually anywhere. Let's update Street View coverage in northern and rural communities together, and tell our unique stories.
Editor's Note: Effective June 30, 2021, Google Tour Creator is no longer available.
