We strive to walk with Christ.
He walks with us.

Alma taught:
And [Christ] shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. (Alma 7:11-12)
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland added that "[succor] is used often in the scriptures to describe Christ's care for and attention to us. It means literally 'to run to.' What a magnificent way to describe the Savior's urgent effort in our behalf. Even as he calls us to come to him and follow him, he is unfailingly running to help us." (Elder Jeffrey R. Holland “Come unto Me” Fireside for young adults, Mar. 2, 1997)
In a recent General Conference address, Elder Patrick Kearon said:
My friends, my fellow disciples on the road of mortal life, our Father’s beautiful plan, even His “fabulous” plan, is designed to bring you home, not to keep you out. No one has built a roadblock and stationed someone there to turn you around and send you away. In fact, it is the exact opposite. God is in relentless pursuit of you. He “wants all of His children to choose to return to Him,” and He employs every possible measure to bring you back....
Everything about the Father’s plan for His beloved children is designed to bring everyone home....
If you are prone to worry that you will never measure up, or that the loving reach of Christ’s infinite Atonement mercifully covers everyone else but not you, then you misunderstand. Infinite means infinite. Infinite covers you and those you love....
No, He does not put up roadblocks and barriers; He removes them. He does not keep you out; He welcomes you in....
"I will trust in Jesus. I will hear His call. He will never leave me, even when I fall." (“I Will Walk with Jesus” from Hymns — For Home and Church).
