Walk with Christ. Kimberly Idaho Stake Trek 2026

Ideas for individuals, families and ward leaders to help prepare (spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically) for Trek

Spiritual and mental preparation

- Learn about handcart pioneers -- and other pioneers, ancient and modern -- who walked with Christ. Be inspired by their stories. This website can be a good resource (Walk with Christ)
- Learn about pioneers in your own family history (handcart pioneers or others)
- Choose a pioneer you’d like to walk for. Write a small synopsis to share.
- Attend the temple on behalf of ancestors (yours or someone else’s)

Social preparation

- Follow @kimberly_stake_youth on Instagram, for ongoing updates and Trek insider information. (Note: if your name isn't on your Instagram, please send a DM with your name, requesting to join)
- Determine to go on Trek. Grow in confidence that you can do it, and that it can be an incredible experience you won’t want to miss.
- Encourage your friends to participate.
- Plan to participate in the Stake Youth Trek activity on Wednesday, 4/29, and the Trek to the Temple on Saturday, 6/13.

Physical preparation

- Exercise. Go out walking to help get used to longer distances being on your feet.
- Determine which shoes to wear on Trek, and begin wearing them regularly, 2-3 months in advance (if possible)
- Register for Trek
- Gather and prepare clothing
- Gather sleeping supplies and a sturdy bag to pack them in (duffle or cloth laundry bag)
- Prepare your 5 Gallon bucket. This is your “suitcase” as well as your seat. Put your name on it.
- Complete and sign the Permission and Medical Release Form and give it to ward leaders.

Ideas for Family Activities

- - Learn as a family about pioneers who walked with Christ.
    - This website can be a good resource (Walk with Christ)
    - Keep up with “Come Follow Me” and learn how people in the scriptures walked with Christ
  - Walk and talk together
  - Work on family history together; attend the Temple together
  - Parents/guardians: Be thinking about what you’d like your youth to hear from you. More details to come about putting these thoughts into a written letter.

Ideas for Ward Activities

- - Most of the activities above could become a ward youth activity. For example:
    - Walk together in the canyon
    - Prepare buckets
    - Gather or make clothing. Ward members that know how to sew could help.
    - Ward Family History consultants could help teach about finding ancestors.
    - Etc.
