Hi, I'm Liyah.
To be honest, I never imagined myself working in ministry, but God had other plans.
While pursuing a degree in engineering at NC A&T, God used mentors and spiritual leaders to deepen my understanding of the Gospel and teach me what it means to surrender my life to Him fully. He began to grow my heart for the lost and to open my eyes to His desire for all nations to know Him.
After graduation, I stepped into the corporate world expecting to follow a more traditional career path. During that season, the Lord continued to grow my faith while also teaching me to trust His direction over my own plans. As I pursued different opportunities and considered what came next, several doors I expected to walk through unexpectedly closed. What initially felt disappointing became one of the ways God redirected my steps and clarified His calling on my life.
At the same time, what started as a simple willingness to pray for the nations slowly became a desire to go and be part of what God is doing around the world. Through prayer, wise counsel, and fasting, He made it clear that He was inviting me to step out in faith and serve overseas. I started to pray, "Here am I, Lord! Send me." Isaiah 6:8
This winter, I will be moving to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, to serve with One Collective. I am excited to serve others by building meaningful relationships and pointing people to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
I don't know exactly what God has in store, but I am grateful for the opportunity to take this next step of faith and trust Him with the journey ahead.
