Tom Sorkan (born 1921) was the Mayor of Walker Creek County from December 1972 to September 1988. He was the 9th Mayor of Walker Creek. He was appointed by us and the City Council after the impeachment of James Lambert, and officially elected in the 1976 Mayoral Election. He focused on keeping the town afloat after the 1972 Bankruptcy, undoing the damage done by James Lambert. He was unsuccessful to an extent but still helpful to our cause.
In 1988, Mayor Sorkan's funding of our organization and other assistance given was brought to light by local reporters. He was unable to disguise it well enough to avoid suspicion. In order to avoid our kind being fully discovered, we falsified records and created a story of 'embezzlement' to keep the townspeople off our trail and make them believe that the situation was simply another incompetent mayor. Due to this, he was impeached in September 1988, at which point the City Council controlled the town until the election of Alan Brown. His sacrifice was necessary and honorable.
He is one of us and still resides in The Home today.
