After the election of a human, James Lambert, in 1972, his infrastructure renovation plans and additional construction projects ran the town into bankruptcy. These projects included the construction of a mall, renovations on all Main Street, an ice skating rink, office building and apartment building construction, and increased funding to all groups, including us. This overextension led to absolute failure. None of these projects were successfully completed. The partially built apartments were demolished in 1983. The pieces of the mall built were converted into the Warehouse Lot. After this bankruptcy, our kin had to step forward in order to rebuild Walker Creek. 27% of businesses shut down, 65% of residents lost their jobs, and 9% of the human population emigrated from the county. While we were able to take advantage of this opportunity to seize power, it was taxing to accomplish this and indirectly contributed to the Infestation (1973).
