After an accident with the rainwater drainage in Walker Creek, The Home was partially flooded. This was due to underfunded infrastructure, a result of the 1972 Bankruptcy. In this tragedy, 12 of our kin were killed and over a hundred more were swept away in the water, out of The Home and into Walker Creek. Those that were swept away lived as our ancestors did - hostless in the wild. They reproduced heavily and eventually began making their way into the town. They infiltrated the homes of residents and even infected animals and a small amount of humans. While we initially tried to contain them and return them to The Home where they belonged, the residents had other ideas and we were unable to stop them without arousing too much suspicion. We had to stand by and watch as they murdered hundreds of our defenseless kin throughout the county. However, animals infected by these wild ones were dangerous and unpredictable, even to fellow Hosts, and were all put down.
