Beaumaris Pier

This was our ninth trip to North Wales to do some coast walking, but the first trip that the whole family came out on. The drives are getting longer and we arrived at Beaumaris at just after 8am, with problems at the first car park (You need coins for the barrier to lift, I had 4 pound coins on me and needed 5) so we found another pay and display car park just around the corner off the main road near the castle. I did some bus research, and the apps were saying you catch the bus from the bakery. Not sure where that was but we found a bus stop next to a Spar, the timetable posted on the bus stop matched the times I had on google and the next bus was to be at 9.19am. So we had a wonder around and I did some filming. We arrived back at the bus stop and the bus arrived, a nice trip around some country lanes and a visit to a hospital and we were in bangor at around 10am. We made the short 15 minute walk back to Bangor Pier to continue our walk. Up a short hill along a lane, then down a residential street hill and we arrived at the Menai Strait, albeit briefly it was now onto fields for a while, up a short steep hill and around the edges of woodland before eventually emerging out onto the A5 near Bangor City football ground. A short walk down to The Menai Bridge which we crossed in awe. There were three pubs to choose from around this area, we chose the smaller pub called The bridge for a little dinner and refreshments. Then now on The Anglesey Coast Path we made our way down and under the Menai Bridge for some more photo opportunities. A short walk along narrow lanes near the Strait and we eventually after a short promenade walk were back on the main road into Beaumaris only for a short while as you leave up a minor road which goes uphill, a little steeply. You follow this road for a while, getting the odd view of the Menai Strait, passing a local shop and one point and three benches together, where you can get a glimpse down to Bangor Pier, the road turns to a narrow single track lane and eventually the coast path leaves the road for woodland and fields, this section was well signposted and we soon came back out onto another single track road, which went downhill rather steeply at the end. The views were quite breathtaking here as we had not seen many for a while, but glorious views as we came down of Puffin island in the distance ahead. We were lead back down to the main road and it was a short walk into Beaumaris. After an ice cream we had a quick explore and visited the castle.
