This was our second trip to walk the Wales Coast Path. Arriving at Ffynnongroyw to early (As I had used the Traveline website to plan my route by Bus. Lets just say it needs updating, or a bus did not turn up) Waited at 7.05 for a 7.15, then realised it was going to be 7.50am. Bus arrives and we start our adventure towards Holywell, after speaking to the driver he advised us to get daysavers. Bus arrived in Holywell and we were about to depart when the driver told us to stay on board he was changing route, now going to be the 11 to Chester via Flint. Arrive at Flint at around 8.30am, getting off near Mcdonalds for a quick breakfast stop. Then a short walk to Flint Castle to continue where we left off. We soon picked up the trail following it around to Flint Dock, the tide was in much more than on last week's visit as we were here earlier. The wind picked up and we made hardly any mistakes on route, A heavy shower was forecast at around 10 am to 11, when it looked like it was coming we rested near a railway bridge, in case we needed to take shelter. There we a couple along the route but they were few and far between. The wind was high on our walk today, at times it was difficult to hold my camera and I have had to mute most of the sound. Really enjoyed the walk, my highlight was The Duke of Lancaster funship. Would love to have a walk around on that. We stopped nearby for a coffee at the Abakhan cafe close to the fun ship. We had a few stops on the way, taking our time, filming and popping off route from time to time, this section took us 6 hours to complete. The last section from Mostyn Docks to Ffynnongroyw was mostly using footpaths along the main road, but we were treated to estuary views again at the end.

Facing the front of Flint Castle, head left and walk around the left side picking up the coast path signs next to the small car park. head along the path heading towards the Estuary where there is a man reading a letter on a bench in military uniform. Follow the path around to Flint Dock, where you will heave to head in and walk around the dock. ///loaded.tango.tables Continue around the dock and head back towards the estuary (Unless high tide) then take the high tide option. As you head back to the estuary the path heads around and slightly back inland, take your first right path to head back towards the water. ///thing.headboard.mainly Keeping on the path nearest the estuary you should find a long straight narrow path. ///clearcut.food.whoever > ///cobbles.windmills.steepest > ///yell.shepherds.early Continue straight on the long path on the embankment with the estuary to your right and fields to your left. Eventually the path takes a long left bend away from the estuary and then a sharp right, keep heading straight when you come to the railway bridge on your left. This leads to a large open area with a railway footbridge. ///cherry.wharfs.stall Don't use the footbridge take the larger track ahead. ///dolly.closet.film Follow this around a few bends and look for a smaller path on your right hand side Pass through the gate and take this path. ///grab.clasps.headboard Keep to this path until you reach a crossroads. ///clever.trudges.importing Turn right here or continue ahead up the steps for the viewpoint option. A long straight path can then be found running alongside the estuary on an embankment again. Keep heading straight until you are close to a large wind turbine on your left side, take the tarmac path to your right ///sticking.sheep.commit Follow this around as it bends left and once again you are next to the estuary. This path leads to Greenfields Dock. Walk around the Dock using the bridge of Dock Road, On the opposite side turn left just before you reach the estuary ///speeds.mills.pelted Pass through the gate and follow the grass alongside the estuary heading straight towards the large ship in the distance. There are two obvious routes, one nearest the rocks to your right, there are gates to climb over on this path, or the left path embankment which has kissing gates to pass through. Eventually just before the ship THE DUKE OF LANCASTER, you need to turn left at the stream, (There is a High Tide option along the way, signposted from the left hand side of the two tracks), turn and follow the stream, so its on your right and pass under the railway bridge. ///clouding.stitch.title This path leads to the road, turn right and right again straight after the stream. Follow this new path back towards the funship on the opposite side of the stream passing back under the railway bridge (Cafe and toilets signposted just before the bridge) at the gates for the ship entrance take the path left, with a couple of steps, this runs alongside the ship and back to the estuary, bending left to run alongside the estuary. ///cherished.slurping.bedroom Keep to this path and it eventually bends left to leave the side of the estuary. As you head away look for a path to your right, passing through the gate and taking this path through the woodland. (If you cross a railway bridge you have missed this path)
At the end of the woodland path t a T Junction, turn left and follow leading out onto Dock Road, cross the road and pick up the pavement on the opposite side, turning left. as the road bends round at the top to cross a bridge, cross the road in front and turn right on the pavement in front of you. Over the bridge at the crossroads, you need to turn right and be on the opposite side of the road, Use the crossings. ///baker.nowadays.safest Continue along the pavement of the A548, crossing Wirral View and continuing alongside the A548. Eventually there is a crossing, just after a signal box on your right hand side. Cross the A548 at the crossing and turn left on the pavement on the opposite side. ///hacking.into.stirs Follow the path until prompted to leave near ///danger.debater.leaky, this path leaves and returns to the main pavement a few meters along. Continue along the pavement a short way then leave at the tarmac path to your right at ///zones.lightens.servers This path runs close to the road, passing a viewpoint and over a footbridge and then re joins the pavement, continue straight ahead on the A548 again with the road on your left side and railway lines on your right. Eventually the footpath ends at a railway footbridge, Use the crossings here to cross the A548, then left and cross again ///vital.chairing.approach Take this short path leading to the small side road. Turn right and follow the road around the sharp bend, there is a bench and then a small bus shelter on your right hand side after the bend.
