" In the Fijian language, "Mataniciva" translates to "a pearl" or "something very treasured." Therefore, "Na Noda Mataniciva" would mean "everyone having responsibility for nurturing our treasures," referring to our young children. This new name accurately represents the significance of our playgroup and the importance we place on the growth and development of our children. It also reflects the treasure that each child represents to us as parents and caregivers.
The Mataniciva Class live a vibrant world of play and discovery. Living in the world of imitation, they take in cues from their surroundings. As a result, great effort is made to give the toddlers a cozy, friendly, peaceful, and lovely environment. The effectiveness of teachers' interactions with each child is their main concern. All toys are constructed of natural materials, and classrooms have a loving, soulful vibe.Â
Teachers create a daily rhythm that is consistent: outside creative play is matched with classroom time. The harmony and order that are established in the daily rhythm and purpose provide the children a sense of security.
We encourage parents to come along themselves and only sometimes send their caretaker. This is a place where we find support and see our children enjoying themselves in a natural environment.
