The Wind Ensemble is our premier performing ensemble here at Wakulla High School. They have had a long line of success earning superiors at district concert MPA and performing high level literature. In 2022, they went to State-level Concert MPA in Niceville, FL for the first time since 2016. In 2023, they returned to the State-level Concert MPA stage in Leon County, FL and earned the rating of superior for the first time since 2015. Consisting mainly of upperclassmen, members of this ensemble will study a wide variety of advanced literature that varies in genre, style, cultural background, and historical time period. Membership in this ensemble is determined based on an audition consisting of a prepared piece, scales (diatonic and chromatic), and sight-reading, that is held the year prior. A balanced ensemble through instrumentation will be taken into factor when determining membership for this ensemble. Prior year membership in Wind Ensemble does NOT guarantee membership the following year. Students who wish to become and remain a member of Wind Ensemble should strongly consider taking lessons on their primary instrument.
Mondays 2:30-4:30pm
