About the owners:
We are two families (sisters) and purchased our cottage on Clam Lake in July 2019. As we are growing our families, we wanted somewhere to make memories and offer a place for other families to do the same. We are a true Michigan family and love to travel lower & upper peninsulas. Hilary (Sept 2021) - Great times at the Wake & Lake
We had a wonderful time at this property & it’s oh so close to other towns to check out! The views & deck are fantastic, we liked the option of a grill and smoker, the gates on the deck were a welcomed addition & we enjoyed the bonfire area. We brought our pontoon and the dock was perfect for us to tie it to. Since our trailer is a bit bigger, we had to park it across the street (vs in the driveway). We’re definitely looking forward to booking again & appreciate the quick responses from the owners!

This house had everything we needed. We brought our 20 ft wake boat and the dock worked perfectly. We were grateful to be on the calm waters of Clam lake when the wind kicked up on Torch lake. We enjoyed Bellaire and highly recommend Shorts; so much so that we went there twice in 5 days. We had 3 kids ranging from 17-12 and they had a great time, I would highly recommend this house.

Our stay at Wake and Lake was wonderful. The home is spotless! the kitchen had everything we needed except our food. Very comfortable beds. The view is fantastic. We loved sitting on the deck next to the river. We have a daughter with special needs and felt very safe with her there. Gates at each end of the deck. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock. We had a bonfire every night. We are going there for our next get away.

Wonderful views from every room. I loved being able to open all windows and French doors for fresh air and ventilation. The home has everything you need. Lush green scenery, with all conveniences close by. Easy half hour trip to Traverse City and Charlevoix, not to mention Bellaire and Alden really close. Owners great to work with. I highly recommend this place and location for all activities, or to just relax and take in all the beauty of the surroundings.

Lovely cottage on Clam Lake. Stephanie was wonderful to deal with. We stayed in January for skiing at Shanty Creek but would love to visit again for summer lake fun. Check-in and check-out were seamless.

Awesome Stay. I spent a long weekend here with friends and had an amazing time. The house is right on the water and a great spot. We rented a boat from the marina across the street and spent a day on Clam Lake and exploring the canals and another day on Torch Lake. The house itself has a grill (gas and charcoal) as well as fire pit we used.

Wake and Lake was clean and tidy, with a beautiful view of Clam Lake and a boat slip!! Awesome property to rent, so clean and tidy and kitchen was so well stocked! I love to cook and she had plenty of dishes and serving bowls! Thank you Stephanie and Victoria!!

Wake & Lake Dream: You can not go wrong booking with this cute cottage just at the mouth between Torch & Clam Lakes. We took our 20 foot boat and after an easy put in at the Clam Lake boat launch, we stored it at their spacious dock! The home is clean, updated, and fully stocked with anything you need in the kitchen, bathrooms, & laundry room. We will most definitely book here again!

I highly recommend this property. i will be going back next year for sure. the owner answered all my questions with no delay. the home is simply Gorgeous. i wanted a home close to the water and i got it. i could almost jump in from the back deck :)

This place was perfect for us! You can't beat the location on lovely Clam Lake, and so very close to Torch Lake. The layout of the house is great with bedrooms on either end and pretty lake views in each room. We spent lots of time enjoying the deck and outdoor space. The house had everything we needed and Stephanie was an excellent host! We can't wait to go back.

Stephanie’s cottage was perfect for our ski trip to Shanty. It was much bigger and cleaner than any of the cabins in the Shanty village that we have rented in the past. Well worth the short drive to Clam Lake! We will definitely return in years to come ! Thank you Stephanie for your hospitality!!

Good property with great dock and water front views. Spent a lot of time on the porch hanging out. The kitchen was well stocked and they provided utensils for s'mores over the fire. Nice place.

We absolutely had a wonderful stay! Everything was just perfect! The location could not have been any better! We rented a pontoon & spent some time exploring the lakes - beautiful! If we had any questions about anything, the sisters replied back to us right away - they were super people to do business with. We would love to rent this house again some day! Thank you so much!

Wake & Lake is the perfect property for a vacation on Torch Lake. The house is great and just as advertised. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need to cook. All of the amenities were great including fishing gear! The house was perfectly located right on the inlet of Clam Lake from Torch Lake. It was walking distance Dockside and the other marinas which made renting a boat super easy. Highly recommend this listing!

My mom and I reserved this property just this past weekend for a mother-daughter getaway. What a perfect time to travel north to the Traverse City area. The colors were spectacular and the weather was perfect! This rental was just as described, and frankly, more. It was very well stocked - I have rented through VRBO multiple times and have never encountered such a well-stocked rental such as this. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The only thing that would've been nice was if we were allowed to use the fireplace. All in all, a wonderful experience! My mom has already made me promise to return!

We loved staying at this Clam Lake home and would fully recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat right on the water. It's all about the view... The home itself is 'open concept' with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms and is exactly as shown in the Airbnb listing. We were two couples, so the space really was perfect for us. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just great. Every room has a full-on lake view, so no matter where we were, we could appreciate the beautiful location. We loved sitting on the sofa and just watching the lake and the wildlife and also enjoyed eating at the large dining table. The open space is perfect for just being together. Outside, there's a large wrap-around porch at the back of the house and stairs that lead down to the lake; there's a two-seater wooden bench at the end of the dock that was perfect for morning coffee and enjoying the view. Since it was a chilly fall weekend, we didn't use the barbecue or outdoor patio furniture, but we could imagine how nice that would be in the warmer weather. Although we didn't meet them, Stephanie and Victoria were great hosts; communication was clear and our text messages were answered immediately. The house is locked with a touch-pad, so we had full privacy and could check-in and check-out with ease. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone at all and have already spoken about coming back another time. Thanks, Stephanie and Victoria!

This house is wonderful! We stayed here for an extended Father's Day weekend. They have everything you would need at the house. We enjoyed having meals out on the deck that overlooks Clam Lake. There is room to park two boats on the dock. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make any type of meal (even crockpots, my wife was happy to see that). They have both a charcoal grill and propane grill on the deck. They have games, fishing gear, kayaks and everything you would need to make a great stay. Stephanie is the best communicator, she replies very quickly and sends you all of the info you will need to be ready for the stay. The house is a great setup, we brought our two kids and everyone had room to spread out. If you are bringing a boat they have two launches nearby. Clam Lake launch is right down the road and it is a DNR launch, fee at the time was $12/day. They also have a launch up the road at Butch's Marine. They don't charge to use the ramp. They also have all the supplies you would need there. You will need to find a place to store your trailer if you keep your boat on the dock. The driveway is very steep and there is not a place to keep a trailer on property. We went to the Supermarket in Bellaire for food for the week. It is only about 10 minutes from the house and they have a good selection. We had dinner at Toonie's Fish & Steak House and they had a great Friday Night fish fry. It was only $13 and it was all you can eat. We also had Father's Day Dinner at The Pelican's Nest Restaurant. They had a nice outdoor seating area and the pricing was very reasonable. Both restaurants were very casual. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back. Torch Lake is amazing. The dock is right next to the channel leading to Torch Lake, so you can't get any closer! Thanks again for a great stay Stephanie!
