Hello and welcome to my personal webpage! I am currently working as a faculty member in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences (DCIS) at the University of AJ&K, Pakistan. I am involved in active research in computer science. Here, you can access information about my research projects.
I graduated with my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) under HEC indigenous PhD Fellowship with Dr. Fayyaz-ul-Amir Afsar Minhas. My academic work lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences, with the aim of developing computational tools to solve complex biological problems. My primary area of research is Machine learning in Bioinformatics. I am presently working on the protein-protein interaction prediction studies and design.
My research seeks to understand molecular interactions, predict protein functions, and uncover insights into host-pathogen interactions using cutting-edge machine learning approaches. He has collaborated internationally, including a research stint at Colorado State University (USA) under HEC’s IRSIP program.
I have developed several open-source and research-grade tools designed to assist the scientific community in predicting molecular interactions and protein functionality:
PANDA
Prediction of Affinity Change upon Mutations using Descriptors of Amino acids
Predicts the change in protein-protein binding affinity caused by mutations using primary sequences.

ISLAND
In-Silico Affinity Learning through Sequence Descriptors
A machine learning tool that estimates protein-protein binding affinity using only amino acid sequence features.

pyLEMMINGS
A Python-based implementation of large-margin multiple instance learning algorithms applied to identify functional regions in protein sequences (e.g., amyloid cores, binding sites).

SIP
S-Adenosyl Methionine Interacting Proteins Predictor
Predicts SAM-interacting proteins and their interaction sites from sequences.

I have authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals and conferences. His work primarily addresses challenges in:
Protein–protein interaction (PPI) prediction
Host-pathogen interaction modeling
Binding affinity estimation
Disease biomarker discovery
Application of interpretable machine learning in computational biology
