THE 2026 BIDGEE BASH Winter Edition
The Paddle NSW Marathon Series offers paddlers ten races on waterways around the state, with each race hosted by a local club. Various distances are on offer, with time-based divisions ensuring paddlers are racing against those of a similar standard. Wagga Wagga Bidgee Canoe Club hosts race #7 in 2026 - The Bidgee Bash on Saturday 13th Jun.

On Sunday the 14th June, join the down stream social paddle. This will be a 7.5km downstream paddle from Eunony Bridge to the Beach. The club trailer will be loaded at the beach from 8:30am on the Sunday morning, with the plan to be on the water by 9:30am at Eunony.
The course for the Social Paddle varies and is dependent on attendees, weather and river conditions. The course taken by most social paddles is a 5-10km round trip upstream from Wagga Beach. This is usually followed by coffee and a chat at a local cafe.
There is a WBCC Social Paddle Whatsapp Group that posts details of other adhoc social paddles for members. Please email waggabidgeecc@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the group.
The club races are 45 minute handicap events, with summer and winter series held. The course for the race is varied with the members skill, fitness and previous times taken into account to provide for fair and competitive racing.
Distances range from 4km to 8km in length. It is a good way for new and non competitive paddlers to meet other club members and to build confidence by paddling when others are on the water, to provide assistance if needed.
There is a WBCC Race Whatsapp Group that posts details of other adhoc longer paddles for members (eg: from Oura or Braehour to the beach). Please email waggabidgeecc@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the group.
