International Human Rights Conference — Türkiye
Keynote Speaker & U.S. Delegate
Selected to represent the United States and Sudan at an international human rights conference in Türkiye, joining leaders, policymakers, advocates, and practitioners from more than 150 countries.
Wafa delivered a keynote exploring human rights, migration, identity, displacement, and courageous leadership. Drawing from her experience as a Sudanese immigrant and community leader, she elevated the realities of immigrant, refugee, Sudanese, and historically underrepresented communities while calling on institutions and leaders to move from awareness toward collective responsibility and meaningful action.
Sudanese Community Fundraising Dinner
Executive Host, Lead Facilitator & Strategic Convener
Designed and led a community fundraising and advocacy event that convened elected officials, nonprofit executives, philanthropic partners, community leaders, and a Colorado member of the U.S. House of Representatives around the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
Wafa invited Colorado legislators and public officials to engage directly with Sudanese community members and moderated a panel focused on practical ways state leaders could support Sudanese, immigrant, and refugee families. Her facilitation strengthened dialogue among policymakers, community advocates, and residents while keeping the conversation centered on action and long-term partnership.
