Dr Sovik Das, is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering group of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He completed doctoral research in Environmental Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. He is engaged in research work pertaining to bio-electrochemical systems like microbial electrosynthesis cells, microbial fuel cells, and microbial electrolysis cells for the treatment of different waste streams with concomitant valuable recovery. Currently, his work involves green hydrogen production from waste and the removal of emerging contaminants from water matrices using both electrochemical and bio-electrochemical technologies. He has authored more than 75 international publications in reputed international journals and thirteen book chapters to his credit. In addition, he has also published three books for International Water Association, Wiley and Springer Nature. He is also an Associate Editor of Sustainable Chemistry for the Environment (Elsevier), Heliyon (Chemical Engineering Section, Cell Press), and the Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (ASCE) and is an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports published by Nature, Journal of Applied Electrochemistry and Discover Electrochemistry published by Springer Nature and journal PLOS One. Moreover, he has served as a reviewer for more than 75 international journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, ACS, Nature etc., and has reviewed more than 500 manuscripts. Further, he has received funding of more than Rs 12 crores for multiple projects in the domain of waste management and water quality from various international and national funding agencies.
