Special events raise the profile of art within the school community and beyond. They foster collaboration and community building and demonstrate the many ways in which art plays a role within our society. Events often have an action component, promoting student agency, encouraging students to collaborate, and to see that their voice matters. I have always been a passionate advocate of art for student action and have found it to be one of the most rewarding areas of my role.
