Source Analysis (ChatPDF, Explainpaper, NotebookLM, Elicit)
Writing/Editing (Grammarly, QuillBot, Scribbr)
Formatting/Output (Citation Generator, Zotero)
Specialized Tasks (Chart Interpreter AI, Journal Finder AI)
For writing a comprehensive research paper using free AI tools, this list is highly sufficient and well-rounded.
The last major addition that often helps with complex academic work—especially in STEM or humanities—is a tool focused on concept mapping and structure beyond simple bullet points, which we addressed with Miro/OKM, but we could add one more resource dedicated to managing the complex flow of a huge project, like a thesis or dissertation.
Finally resource focusing on Academic Task Management in a new Section 5 makes the list truly complete for any academic project size. This will make the VVVC library even more robust!
In addition, Trello as a project management resource, as it's a common free tool used by students to track all parts of a research project (drafting, editing, feedback, sourcing, etc.).
Section 5: Project Management & Collaboration with Trello and GitHub (premium). The toolset is now incredibly robust for drafting, researching, editing, analyzing data, and managing large academic projects using free AI-powered and collaboration tools!
