Competitions

"The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is the preeminent mathematics competition for undergraduate college students in the United States and Canada. The Putnam Competition takes place annually on the first Saturday of December. The competition consists of two 3-hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. During each session, participants work individually on 6 challenging mathematical problems."

"COMAP's Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is Real World Mathematical Modeling where research, analytics and applied intelligence reign along with less-quantifiable factors like timing and luck. Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), an international contest for high school students and college undergraduates, challenges teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions to open-ended problems. The contest attracts diverse students and faculty advisors from over 900 institutions around the world. The Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), an extension of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), is designed to develop and advance interdisciplinary problem-solving skills as well as competence in written communication."

"The Virginia Tech Regional Mathematics Contest (VTRMC) is sponsored each fall by the Mathematics Department at Virginia Tech. More than 200 colleges and universities throughout VA, DC, GA, IL, MD, NJ, NY, OH, NC, PA, SC, TN, WV and other states are invited to participate each year. Even if you do not receive an invitation, you are still welcome to take part "
