Purpose of the SIAM Student Chapter
Student chapters of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) are intended to promote applied mathematics and computational science to undergraduate and graduate students of mathematics-related disciplines.
Become a member and get involved
Our local Virginia Tech Student Chapter of SIAM is open to all students and members of Virginia Tech.
Sign up for a "free undergraduate student" or "free graduate student" membership on the SIAM website. When you sign up, you will be able to choose your affiliation with the VT chapter.
There is no official roster for being a SIAM Chapter member. You should be able to receive all of the membership benefits listed on the SIAM website as soon as you sign up. However, if you would like to be involved with organizational activities of the chapter, please contact us through our forum or at skbender@vt.edu.

The members of the SIAM Student Chapter at Virginia Tech believe it is the responsibility of resident mathematicians to instill a sense of scientific community in new and existing members. To this end, we aim to create a forum for the exchange of research ideas among graduate and undergraduate students in science, computers, mathematics, and engineering from VT and neighboring universities.
