Student Scholarships

Student Scholarships

This page provides information about scholarships that are available to students who apply.

(Note that financial assistance for participating in the festival is not available through VMEA. Students who are seeking assistance with the festival participation fee are encouraged to contact their school.)

In addition to the scholarship opportunities listed on this page, monetary prizes may be awarded to student performers who completed a "scholarship audition" during the All State audition process and scored above a certain threshold. Individual contributions toward scholarships for performers are welcome; for more information, send a message using the contact link on the home page.

VT All State Music Festival
"Long-Term Scholarship Fund"

Students who audition to participate in the Vermont All State Music Festival can also choose to perform in front of adjudicators for the chance to receive a scholarship recognizing outstanding musical talent. Scholarships are currently funded through donations and a portion of ticket sales from the festival concerts. In a typical year, there are 10 to 15 scholarships awarded. Unfortunately, a lack of sufficient funding means we are unable to present students with scholarships large enough to reflect their significant accomplishments.

The festival established a long-term scholarship fund several years ago and is working to raise enough money so that this fund can generate revenue (interest income) to help fund the annual scholarships. The fund currently has approximately $31,000.

Donations to this campaign will be added to the long-term scholarship fund to help us reach the goal of being able to generate $5,000 to $10,000 (or more) annually so that the festival can award scholarships that have a significant impact on students.

The donation form below can be used to contribute to the long-term scholarship fund. (Note that money in this account is not used to fund scholarships for the current year's recipients.)

Contributions by check are also gratefully accepted. Make the check payable to "VMEA All State Music Festival" and mail to: Vermont All State Music Festival, P.O. Box 438, Fairlee, VT 05045.
