YouTube is a free video sharing website that makes it easy to create and watch online videos. You can even upload panoramic videos from the camera.
Before you can successfully upload your panoramic video to YouTube, make sure convert the video using the camera's computer application. The first application is the RICOH Theta V App, which coverts the video into a YouTube movie format. The second application is the RICOH THETA Movie Converter App, which converts that converted file into a file with 360º spatial audio format.
360º videos recorded on the RICOH THETA V camera will need to be converted twice to meet the YouTube spatial audio specification. Follow these steps to obtain the right file type - MOV. - for YouTube:
1. Open the RICOH Theta V application.
2. Drag and drop the video into the open application.
3. Select a folder for the "Output file".
4. Click "Start".
1. Drag and drop the converted movie file to the RICOH THETA Movie Converter on the desktop screen. When a dialog box appears, specify a file name and start conversion. After the file is converted, an MOV file (for instance, R0010001_er.mov) is output.
After you have converted the file twice, it will now be ready for uploading into YouTube. Follow these steps to upload your converted video into YouTube:
1. Create and/or open the YouTube account.
2. Click on the video icon at the top right-hand side of the window to upload the video.
3. Click on ‘Upload Video.’
4. Then, press ‘Select files’ to find the converted file saved on your computer. Or, you can drag and drop it into the window.
Now publish your video.
