The following applies to VRCL's Onward Uplink 5v5
VRCL Halve System:
VRCL will have 2 sections in each season. Halfway through the season, VRCL will update the rules the community has voted on. In these 2 halves there will be changes in how MMR works as well as roster lock. Once VRCL reaches the halfway point, the rosters will be set for the rest of the season and playoffs. MMR will count with 1.5x weight in the second half of the season compared to the first half.
Regular season:
Each team will start out with a rank depending on their MMR. If they have no starting rank, they will be placed in a random match, depending on that result, they will be given a rank. For the first season, every team will have a 3 match period where the MMRs are dependent on other team which has been previously played performances. For example, if a master level team beats a gold level team 12-4, the gold level's team MMR will go up the more the master level team wins, because the master level team has proven to be better. Each team will play a total of 16 league-appointed matches, 8 in each half of the season.
Challenge matches and Scheduling:
During the regular season, the league will assign one match per week per team, with scheduling based on each team's MMR. Additionally, teams may challenge others within one rank above or below their own. Matches must be scheduled by Friday of the match week; otherwise, the default time will be Sunday at 9 PM EST for NA teams and Sunday 3 PM EST for EU teams. If neither of the teams respond, both will be forfeited. Teams may postpone a match by up to 6 days, but the league must be notified.
Playoffs:
The playoffs will happen with the top 6 teams in the league. Ranks 3-6 will have to fight for their spot in the semifinals, while ranks 1 and 2 already have their spot secured. There will be a seeded system to determine which two teams play each other.
This is the order and structure of the playoffs.
Round 1 (Winner's Bracket):
Match 1: Seed 3 vs Seed 6
Match 2: Seed 4 vs Seed 5
Seeds 1 and 2 receive byes in Round 1.
Match 3: Seed 1 vs Winner of Match 1
Match 4: Seed 2 vs Winner of Match 2
Match 5: Loser of Match 1 vs Loser of Match 2 (Elimination Match)
Match 6: Loser of Match 3 vs Winner of Match 5 (Elimination Match)
Match 7: Loser of Match 4 vs Winner of Match 6 (Elimination Match)
Match 8: Winner of Match 3 vs Winner of Match 4
Match 9: Winner of Match 7 vs Loser of Match 8 (Elimination Match)
Match 10: Winner of Match 8 vs Winner of Match 9
If the Winner of Match 9 wins the first match, they must play a second match, since the team from the Loser's Bracket must win twice to take the tournament.
Winner of Grand Final: (Champion)
Runner-Up: (Loser of Grand Final)
3rd Place: Winner of Loser's Final
4th Place: Loser of Loser's Final
5th Place: Loser of Match 6 (first team eliminated in the loser's bracket)
6th Place: Loser of Match 7 (second team eliminated in the loser's bracket)
League Votes
At the begging of each season, before the first match starts, the following rules, as well as others suggested by the community will be voted on. All of the voting options and the voting process take place in the discord.

When voting will happen:
When the VRCL season starts, the most important issues to the community will have already been voted on. After the season starts, the community will continue to be able to propose ideas that can be voted on, the changes will happen in the second half of the season at the midway point, as to not be too confusing with constant rule changes.
The voting process:
The community will vote on issues which are commonly brought up to the mods either in the discord or any other chance players get to see them. Once an issue is decided on, all of the league players will get a vote, all they have to do is to DM a moderator what they are voting for, and the moderator will verify the vote and count it. The results of the votes will be published to the community, as well as how many people voted each way, however the identities of the voters will not be revealed.
