The Sheboygan-based VOX group is a harmony-driven folk/pop/blues ensemble featuring something for everyone. Whether it’s a keyboard-driven R & B song, a relaxing finger-picked ballad, an old a cappella blues tune, or an up-tempo pop number, VOX delivers with its renowned common denominator: Beautifully-woven three-part harmony.
Founded in 2017, vocalists Marie Hetzel, Stephanie Stowers, and Anne Lapinski — along with Simon Ulrich, Tammie Butzen, and Sophie Bartol on guitar, bass, keys, and percussion — create an integrated musical experience that speaks to the soul.
Their first CD, “Resilient,” was released in 2022, and is available for streaming on Apple Music and Spotify. It features song covers and their own arrangements of music by Adele, the Wailin’ Jennys, Paul Simon, George Michael, Fleet Foxes, Tom Petty, and Rising Appalachia, along with versions of centuries-old tunes like “Scarborough Fayre,” “Old Churchyard,” “Parting Glass,” and “I’ll Fly Away.”
The 2020 pandemic motivated them to produce several highly-involved music videos, including costumes, scripts, and local string musicians to tell the music’s story.
VOX plans to release its second CD, "Rise Above," in October 2025.
