We are running to fight for you

At ASU West Valley, students deserve more than symbolic leadership. We deserve advocacy that delivers real results. Too often, decisions are made without student input, costs continue to rise, and essential resources feel out of reach. We are running to change that.

Our campaign is rooted in a simple belief: student government should work with students, not above them. Every student deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered, whether you’re a commuter, a transfer student, a first-generation student, a working student, or someone finding your place on campus for the first time.

We are committed to building a West Valley campus where affordability is protected, belonging is intentional, and opportunity is accessible to all. Through transparency, policy-driven advocacy, and consistent engagement, we will fight to ensure students’ voices are not just heard, but acted on. This is about creating a campus that listens, responds, and shows up for its students, every day, not just during elections.

Affordability

• Reducing financial barriers so students can focus on learning, not surviving.

  • Affordability is the number one issue facing students, and policy is how we address it.

  • While addressing affordability through policy, aiding with services in the process 

• Policy & Advocacy Commitments

  • Advocate for an end to unnecessary student fee increases and push for fee transparency in all administrative discussions.

  • Publish clear, accessible breakdowns of where student dollars go and how USG advocates on students’ behalf.

  • Push for a Sun Devil Swipes expansion, including allowing unused meal swipes to be donated to food-insecure students.

  • Advocate for expanded access to textbook affordability programs, emergency grants, and low-cost course materials.

  • Vote No on student fee increases 

  • Expand Uber codes to grocery and drug stores

  • Expand on free hygiene products & other necessary school supplies 

• Outreach, Events, and Services

  • Host Affordability Town Halls each semester, where students can directly engage with administrators and policymakers.

  • Table and present in classrooms to ensure students know what resources exist and how to access them.

  • Partner with campus departments to make financial, food, and housing resources visible, centralized, and easy to navigate.

  • Post a student fee breakdown, as both a flyer and video to ensure students understand where their hard earned money is going

  • Partner with campus clubs and organizations to further provide necessary items at no extra cost 

  • Enhance visibility of resources in the USG Space 

  • Host events highlighting the health cart and the services USG provides to students at no cost 

• External Engagement

  • Build relationships with local and state elected officials to advocate for policies that support higher education affordability across Arizona.

  • Ensure West Valley students are represented in broader conversations about education funding and access.

  • Outreach and Partner with community food banks and affordable housing groups

  • Ensure access to the Dean of Students and emergency student funds

  • Outreach and Partner with organizations to receive reduced-priced products, which are more sustainable 

  • Connect students with a scholarship that could provide them with funds for just being a WV student

Belonging

• Fostering a connected, inclusive, and supportive campus community. 

  • Building a community that goes beyond superficial relationships and engages deeply with all students. 

  • Deepening relationships with students who are not accustomed to college, Arizona, or even the country. 

• Policy & Advocacy Commitments

  • Protect and advocate for DEI initiatives, student workers, and marginalized communities through USG policy positions.

  • Push for policies that support commuter students, transfer students, first-generation students, and working students.

  • Advocate for continued and expanded student-inclusive safety walks that center care, not enforcement.

  • Foster affinity on the West Valley campus

  • Ensure every student has a voice in decision-making through direct advocacy, increased engagement, and leadership opportunities.

  • Advocate for students with disabilities and provide accurate information on TRIO & SAILS

• Outreach, Events, and Services

  • Host community connection events focused on transfer and commuter students.

  • Collaborate with clubs, organizations, and departments to ensure every student sees themselves represented in USG.

  • Continue consistent classroom visits and tabling as a full ticket, not just during elections, but all year.

  • Host club nights, a single low-commitment activity for students to attend and get involved

  • Enhance student well-being, health, and campus life by ensuring every student has access to resources that support their physical, mental, and emotional wellness.

  • Expand Sun Devil Fitness Complex (SDFC) fitness classes to promote physical wellness.

  • Expand on cultural competence and accuracy to promote an inclusive environment for all students 

  • Increase the presence and services of the Health Cart to ensure accessible healthcare resources.

  • Advocate for additional mental health resources and destigmatize mental health support on campus.

  • Focus on keeping bathrooms stocked with menstrual hygiene products

• External Engagement

  • Expand professional and leadership opportunities

    • Expanding career & graduate school fairs, ensuring a broad range of industries and graduate programs are represented, and providing targeted support for underrepresented majors and career paths.

    • Promoting major-specific networking opportunities by facilitating alumni panels, mentorship programs, and collaborations with local businesses, nonprofits, and government offices.

    • Bring in the voices of underrepresented leaders to promote leadership within student organizations and encourage students who wish to pursue leadership roles

    • Provide students with opportunities to see individuals of their culture, backgrounds, etc., in a professional setting/ career

    • Partnering with other organizations on other campuses to continue the university-wide initiatives

Opportunity

• Create pathways, access, and advocacy so students can succeed academically, professionally, and personally. 

• Policy & Advocacy Commitments

  • Advocate for Direct Vote Referendums, allowing students to bring petitions and ballot initiatives directly to the student body.

  • Push for clearer pathways for student input in administrative and campus planning processes.

  • Support initiatives like West Valley Gardens and other sustainability, workforce, and experiential learning opportunities.

  • Keep students informed and empowered on legislative matters

  • Provide accessible, non-partisan summaries of local, state, and federal legislation

  • Enhance knowledge on library resources, as well as provide more supplies for basic note-taking 

• Outreach, Events, and Services

  • Continue to host USG Town Halls where students can learn how decisions are made, and how to influence them.

  • Strengthen collaboration between USG, student organizations, and external partners to expand opportunities beyond the classroom.

  • Partner with relevant organizations and student leaders to facilitate voter education and civic engagement initiatives, ensuring that every student feels confident in their ability to engage with the democratic process.

  • Offering tailored mentorship and resource support for new and existing clubs, including workshops on leadership development, event planning, and financial management.

  • Host career readiness workshops covering topics such as applying for internships and jobs, resume building, and writing cover letters

  • Host events that allow students to connect with ASU administrators, alumni, and affiliated organizations to explore various academic and career paths

• External Engagement

  • Outreaching with Barrett the Honors College towards opportunities pertaining to honors students, as well as providing a space for those who are interested or not a part of the college community. 

  • Informing students about research and or extracurricular opportunities

• We stand with students, those who feel unheard, unseen, or unsupported. We show up together.

• We will show up consistently, listen intentionally, and advocate relentlessly. The student government must work with students, not above them.

Sanctuary

• We create a campus where every student feels safe, welcomed, and protected, socially, emotionally, academically.

• We will reflect care, dignity, and respect for every member of our community.

Transparency

• Students deserve to know how decisions are made, where dollars go, and who is advocating for them. We will lead with honesty and accountability. No ego, no games, just service.

Closing Statement

This campaign is about more than titles or positions, it’s about responsibility. The responsibility to advocate fiercely for students, to lead with integrity, and to build a campus where every student can thrive.

We believe in a student government that is transparent, accessible, and accountable. One that lowers barriers instead of raising them, creates spaces of belonging instead of exclusion, and opens doors to opportunity instead of keeping them closed. Our commitment is to show up consistently, listen intentionally, and fight relentlessly for the needs of West Valley students.

Together, we can build a student government that reflects the values of our campus, solidarity, sanctuary, and transparency, and turns them into action.
