KATHY HOFFMAN

Kathy Hoffman, a mother of three, currently works in the legal field, where she has over twelve years of experience in Tax Certiorari, Property Management, and Estates. She and her late husband were also small business owners before he passed in the area of IT staffing. She knows first-hand the struggles of being a small business owner. Kathy takes great pride in serving the community, and she has served as a Trustee at St. Joseph Parish in Babylon Village and as the President and Board Member of the Parish CYO. Additionally, she has served as the Chairperson of the Athletic Board of CYO Nassau/Suffolk. Kathy pledges to use her leadership and program development skills to bring a new voice to Babylon Village Hall.

“Babylon Village has been my home for over thirty years. While I am proud to live here and I believe the Board, over the years, has done a wonderful job maintaining our quality of life, I do believe there are areas where we can do better,” Hoffman says. “I would like to create an opportunity for more open dialogue among the Board, residents, and businesses to ask their questions, air their concerns and offer solutions. It is of great importance that Village Codes are current and enforced consistently, and that we work on a long-term plan that includes review of all contracts, discretionary spending, infrastructure improvements and new means of generating revenue to offset property taxes. We are all part of the Babylon Village Team. It is our community, so let us come together and move our Village forward.”

Professionally, Kathy has experience in property management, commercial real estate tax grievances, and estate work. She also has experience with fundraising, program and policy development.

Kathy, a 31-year Babylon resident was raised in an Irish Catholic household as daughter of a U.S. Marine. She was brought up valuing ethics, integrity, and honesty. She embodies those values every day and plans to bring them with her to Village Hall.

For 8 consecutive years, Kathy and her family have organized a walk team and raised funds for the National M.S. Society in memory of her husband Dan, who lost his battle with M.S. and Lung Cancer in 2011.

AIDAN LYONS

Aidan Lyons arrived in Babylon Village from Dublin in 1995 on a soccer scholarship. Aidan has built a career working in digital, social, marketing and analytics and aims to bring his skills in the digital technology space to improve inefficiencies and gaps in communication in Village government.

“We have all experienced how technology has impacted our everyday lives from mobile phones, security, maps, to ordering food,” says Lyons. “The pandemic has expedited the adoption of technology, in particular in the areas of collaboration and eCommerce. We must take advantage of these new technologies in local government to improve processes by reducing repetition, better security for our residents, increased foot traffic and consumer experience to our local business, and enhanced collaboration within our community. We are looking forward to working with the community to utilize these new technologies.”

Aidan is still an active soccer player and has passed the love for the sport onto his son. His spare time is devoted to coaching and watching his son play soccer.
