During the January 2020 monthly board meeting, Manor Schoolhouse Foundation Board Member Dr. David Onsongo awarded Lagos Elementary Second Grade Teacher Caitlin Lowery with the Culture of Innovation Award and a $200 Visa gift card during the Manor ISD Board Meeting. We are so proud of all of Ms. Lowery's talents and accomplishments.
The foundation will recognize five individuals throughout the year who work in Manor ISD to promote a "culture of innovation" in their work and share their creativity and innovation more broadly outside of their classroom or work environment.
In 2020, I was named Manor ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. It was an honor to be recognized by our district and to be asked to speak at our virtual convocation that fall.
I then went on to win Region 13 Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2021.
I attribute my success to the support I received from my mentors in the district, who took the time to continuously pour into me as a professional so I could grow and develop as a teacher every single day in the classroom.
Education is a team sport. It takes all of us to make an impact!
