In 1988, Ruth and I packed up our worldly goods and drove to California from the Mid West in an old Volkswagen bus.  It was our honeymoon and we both joked saying, "where this thing breaks....that's where we'll live"  We're lucky the bus made it to the Bay Area, because that's when we knew it was time to stop travelling.

After living in San Francisco and Oakland, we moved to Piedmont in 1997 and raised our two daughters here.

I've been a California licensed architect since 1990.   I was an owner of an Oakland architectural firm for 18 years.  Today, I work for a national real estate advisory and project management company, Project Manager Advisors.  I am an owner's representative, which means I manage teams and drive the owner's scope, schedule and budget.  I'm fortunate that I get to work with forward thinking companies and talented teams of architects, engineers and contractors on large, impactful projects around the Bay.

In November of 2022, my neighbors elected me to serve on Piedmont City Council. It's been a great experience allowing me to be an intregal part of the team that makes this town a great place.
